Proceedings of Dec. 15

• Rodney L. Baumgarten, 42, Gillett, was placed on one year of probation by Judge Jay Conley after he withheld sentencing for possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 25, 2020.

• Justin John Ault, 34, Sobieski, pleaded no contest to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense) and a misdemeanor count of operating while his license was revoked, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 5. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for Feb. 19 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• An April 17-18 jury trial was scheduled for Paul J. Frewerd, 51, Peshtigo, who faces four counts of mistreatment of animals causing death, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 1 and Oct. 5, 2020; and misdemeanor charges of resisting a conservation warden, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 22, 2020, counts of illegal shining and failure to obtain required hunting approval, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 1, 2020; and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with the alleged incident of Oct. 5, 2020. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for April 8.

• After testimony, Conley ruled that Wildon Jerome Dillard, 27, Chicago, is not competent to assist in his own defense but may be restored to competency. Dillard is charged with driving or operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, as well as a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing and officer, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 30.

Proceedings of Dec. 14

• A March 21 jury trial was scheduled for Maxwell Richard Mellen, 41, Green Bay, who is charged with possession of methamphetamine in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 13. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for March 4.

• An April 17 jury trial was scheduled for Tyler Roger Coyle, 30, Neenah, on charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle while his license was revoked, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 30. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for April 8.

• An April 17 jury trial was scheduled for Shane P. Hamlin, 29, Green Bay, on charges of possession of THC (second or subsequent offense) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 4. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for April 8.

• Christopher Harvey Belland, 45, Bonduel, pleaded not guilty to theft by false representation, two counts of issuing worthless checks, two counts of felony bail jumping and one count of misdemeanor bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 2, as well as theft by false representation, issuance of worthless checks greater than $2,500, two counts of felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor counts of issuance of worthless checks less than $2,500 and bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 17. Conley scheduled a pre-trial conference for Feb. 15.

• Jacob S. Barber, 36, Crivitz, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession of narcotic drugs, maintaining a drug trafficking place, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 31. Judge scheduled a plea hearing for Jan. 16.

• Anthony Barrett Wood, 39, Lakewood, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to substantial battery and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 12. Judge scheduled a pre-trial conference for Feb. 15.

• Danielle Kristie Marcotte, 37, Oconto Falls, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on three counts of child abuse intentionally causing harm, five misdemeanor counts of child neglect, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 7. Conley scheduled arraignment for Jan. 11.

• Bond was set at $2,000 cash for David Lawrence Vanness, 57, Luxemburg, after he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense) and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol content, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 30. Judge adjourned his initial appearance to Jan. 11.

• A $5,000 signature bond was set for James John Crouse, 51, Menominee, Michigan, after he was charged with possession of THC (second and subsequent offense) and misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle while his license was revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 16. Judge adjourned his initial appearance until Jan. 11.

• Michael R. Mayville, 58, Abrams, was sentenced to 120 days in jail for possession of narcotic drugs, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 19, 2022.

Proceedings of Dec. 12

• Joaquin Julian Alba, 28, Gillett, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of endangering safety by the use of a dangerous weapon, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that occurred April 17, and a felony charge of bail jumping, in connection with an incident that occurred Oct. 11. Judge scheduled sentencing for Feb. 16 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• Nicole M. Harris, 40, Oconto, pleaded no contest to two counts of misdemeanor possession of THC, in connection with incidents that occurred Feb. 23 and March 13, as well as possession of methamphetamine, in connection with the March incident. Judge scheduled sentencing for Feb. 2 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• Caiden R. Whitehead, 17, Oconto, pleaded no contest to second-degree recklessly endangering safety and a misdemeanor count of resisting or failing to stop, in connection with an incident that occurred Sept. 20. Judge approved a deferred judgment agreement on the felony count, and for the misdemeanor he levied fines and placed Whitehead on one year of probation with conditions, including 15 days in the Oconto County Jail.

• Andrew A. Cherry, 25, Pulaski, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to felony bail jumping and misdemeanor counts of operating a motor vehicle while his license was revoked and violating an ignition interlock order, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 13. Judge scheduled a pre-trial conference for Feb. 16.
