Proceedings of July 2

Edward A. LaRock, 35, Peshtigo, pleaded not guilty to charges of fleeing an officer in a vehicle, first-degree recklessly endangering safety and misdemeanor counts of resisting/obstructing an officer, bail jumping and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 17. A pretrial conference was scheduled for Aug. 13.

Sarah J. Hujet, 37, Sobieski, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 16. Arraignment was scheduled for July 16.

After a preliminary hearing, Zebullin Augustus Fountain, 21, Lena, was bound over on a charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child, in connection with an incident alleged to have occurred in 2012. Arraignment was scheduled for July 16.

Proceedings of July 1

Nicole L. Bergquist, 46, Algoma, pleaded no contest to two counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that occurred May 27, 2019. In a plea agreement, a related felony charge was dismissed. Judge Michael T. Judge assessed court costs and fees totaling $1,126.

Caleb J. Gomez, 18, Oconto Falls, was placed on two years’ probation for manufacturing THC with the intent to deliver, in connection with an incident that occurred May 17, 2019. He was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety, complete his high school education and maintain full-time employment (part-time if in school).

Proceedings of June 30

Chad C. Henden, 44, Oconto, was placed on three years’ probation after a 3½ year prison sentence was imposed and stayed for substantial battery intending bodily harm, in connection with an incident that occurred Aug. 4, 2018. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that the probation term begin with three months in the Oconto County Jail. Probation conditions include that he complete any treatment or counseling recommended by the Department of Corrections, specifically anger management, and that he have no contact with the victim in any form including but not limited to phone, writing, electronic or third-party contact.

A July 8-9 jury trial was postponed for Jeremy J. Winter, 35, Gillett, who faces a felony charge of possession of THC (second or subsequent offense) and three related misdemeanors, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 6, 2019. A pretrial conference was scheduled for Sept. 17.

Bond was set at $7,500 for Adam J Charles, 50, Suamico, who is charged with possession of methamphetamine and bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 27. His initial appearance was adjourned until July 16.

A July 8-9 jury trial for David C. Thompson, 51, Suring, was postponed because of COVID-19 concerns. Thompson faces charges of aggravated battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 15, 2018. A status conference was scheduled for Sept. 17.

Liam P. Connors, 19, Oconto, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage to property – one felony and one misdemeanor – and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred May 4, 2019. Judge Michael T. Judge approved a deferred judgment agreement on the felony and placed Connors into the Volunteers in Probation program for the misdemeanors. He can petition the court for expungement of the charges if he completes the conditions of the probation, which include paying more than $9,600 in restitution and $936 in fines and court costs.

Proceedings of June 29

Michael A. Musial, 33, Phelps, pleaded no contest to homicide by operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and misdemeanor bail jumping, in connection with a traffic crash July 18, 2019, in Mountain that claimed the life of motorcyclist Mark Roovers, 61, of Appleton. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for Sept. 2 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Shawn T. Olson, 33, Oconto, formerly Pound, was placed on four years’ probation beginning with one year and three months in the Oconto County Jail for possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), in connection with an incident that occurred last April 14; strangulation-suffocation and misdemeanor battery in an incident that occurred Aug. 5, 2018; and strangulation-suffocation, bail jumping and victim intimidation in connection with an incident that occurred in Manitowoc County on April 13, 2019. Prison sentences of three years, followed by three years of extended supervision, were imposed and stayed for two of the charges and could take effect if Olson violates conditions of his probation, which include paying full restitution and undergoing an alcohol and other drug abuse assessment and following through on all recommendations.

Nicolas Nigel Beaupre-Mamula, 22, Amberg, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to a charge of battery by a prisoner, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 9. A plea hearing was scheduled for July 8.
