Noack leads Suring girls cross-country team to 1st place

Suring High School's Olivia Noack won a cross-country race on Oct. 5 in Lena to help the Suring girls team to a first-place finish.

Noack completed the course in 21 minutes, 51 seconds. The girls team posted a team score of 31, comfortably ahead of Coleman (48).

The Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy co-op boys team took third on the day, while the girls co-op was fourth.

Georgia Gerndt posted a fifth-place finish in 24 minutes for the Suring girls, while Chantelle VanDenElzen took ninth in 25:24. Hailey Thomson (25:49) and Ginger Gerndt (29:07) filled out the team, placing 11th and 20th, respectively.

The trio of Max Beyer, Reed Hosking and Mason Belongia led the Lena/STAA boys. Beyer (21:01) took 10th, Hosking (21:05) was 11th and Belongia (21:10) finished 12th.

Drake Dionne (21:44) and Norman Aguilar (23:09) capped the team score with 16th- and 22nd-place finishes, respectively.

Della Kostreva led the Lena/STAA girls team with a 10th-place finish in 25:48. Haley VanArk (28:59) took 18th, while Megan Shallow (29:04) was 19th.

Chaela Rabas (30:03) and Samara VanArk (38:54) rounded out the team, placing 21st and 31st, respectively.
