NFL: Packers introducing new game entertainment

New graphics, lighting, effects and fireworks to be unveiled

GREEN BAY — From City Stadium to Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers’ homes have provided a special environment in which to play and cheer for more than 100 years.

Whether marching bands and mascots, or “Go Pack Go,” the Packers and their fans have enjoyed many time-honored traditions that produce a lively and advantageous home field.

With Sunday’s home opener at Lambeau Field sure to be an electric atmosphere, the Packers are inviting fans and game attendees to look forward to new entertainment elements being introduced at the game. After testing some new elements during the preseason, the Packers are set to incorporate new fan engagement features this season to help take Lambeau Field’s competitive environment to the next level.

From enhanced video board prompts and graphics to fresh music and more fireworks, many of the new elements will be geared toward this year’s game entertainment theme “Embracing the Frozen Tundra.”

Among the variety of new elements for this season, fans at each game will notice a new pregame video highlighting the toughness of Green Bay and the Frozen Tundra, enhanced team and player introductions with new visual effects, as well as additional celebratory effects after touchdowns.

Fans will also see numerous Packers players appearing on the TundraVision video boards to remind fans to get loud and stand up on defense, especially on third downs, and to stay quiet and seated when the offense is at work.

“The gameday atmosphere at Lambeau Field is legendary, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the enhanced effects help to fuel our fans’ excitement,” said Gabrielle Dow, Packers vice president of marketing and fan engagement. “We know Packers fans will do whatever they can to help the team win, and we encourage them to join us in continuing to create an unparalleled home-field advantage at Lambeau Field.”

In more recent years, the Packers have introduced various entertainment themes and initiatives, including “Get Loud Lambeau” and “G-Force,” as well as the Tundra Line drum line, to energize the crowd. As the NFL’s gameday environment continues to evolve, the Packers aim to honor Lambeau Field’s many beloved traditions, including celebrating touchdowns with the song “Bang the Drum All Day,” and polka dancing to “Roll out the Barrel,” while also developing new ways for fans to engage with and have an impact on the game.
