Mosinee mayor announces Assembly run

Mosinee Mayor and Republican Brent Jacobson will run for State Assembly this fall in the newly created 87th District.

“As I talk to people in and around my community, they are looking for strong leadership and fiscal responsibility from our elected officials,” he said. “While some communities have struggled to attract businesses and residents, we have gained them. I plan to use the same drive and determination to move our state and region forward if chosen by the people of central Wisconsin to be their next representative in the Legislature.”

Jacobson, 39, is a husband and father, born and raised in Mosinee where he has served as mayor since 2015. Jacobson is a practicing attorney and small business owner.

He has previously served on the Marathon County Board. He has chaired a multi-jurisdictional fire and EMS department, planning commission and tourism commission.

The new 87th Assembly District includes portions of Marathon, Shawano, Portage and Waupaca counties.
