Milwaukee plays Washington in wild card game

Relegated to an NL wild-card spot, Milwaukee lost on the road to Colorado on Sunday when Jake Faria threw a wild pitch in the 13th inning that allowed the winning run to score.

The Brewers will play at Washington on Tuesday night in the wild-card game. The winner advances to take on the NL West champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yasmani Grandal hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee and Hernan Perez had a pinch-hit homer.

Milwaukee closer Josh Hader gave up a tying home run with two outs in the ninth inning and the Brewers lost to Colorado in 10 innings on Saturday.

With a chance to tie for the division lead, Hader quickly retired the first two batters in the ninth. But rookie Sam Hilliard then stepped up as a pinch-hitter and launched an opposite-field drive to left field that made it 2-all.

Trevor Story led off the Colorado 10th with his 35th home run, connecting against Matt Albers (8-6).

Ryan Braun exited early with calf trouble and Milwaukee's push for the NL Central title took a hit in a loss to Colorado on Friday that ended the Brewers' seven-game winning streak.

Braun hit an RBI single in the first inning and played left field in the bottom half. He was pulled in the second.

Lorenzo Cain homered, Keston Hiura had four hits and Brewers starter Zach Davies allowed just one run on two hits.

Pinch-hitter Raimel Tapia connected for a grand slam to cap Colorado's seven-run sixth inning that made it 8-2. Ryan McMahon hit a two-run homer in Colorado's three-run seventh inning.
