Menominee Tribal School temporarily closes

KESHENA — Menominee Tribal School will close effective Monday with a tentative student return date of April 14 in response to coronavirus concerns.

The decision came after consultation with the tribe’s incident command team.

“We are trying to be proactive and do precautionary measures,” the tribe said in a statement.

“A deep cleaning and disinfecting of the school will be conducted,” the statement continued.

“We will have e-learning and materials available for families without internet starting the week of March 23rd. We feel this is a necessary step to protect our students, families and staff.

“Please remember to take care of the physical and emotional health of you and your family.

“Please continue to practice washing hands and staying home when you are sick so that we can help contain the spread of COVID-19 and all illnesses.”
