Melvin R. Trever

Melvin R. Trever, 90, of Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021. Melvin was born on April 18, 1931, to the late Raymond and Ardis (Saunders) Trever. Melvin served his country from 1950 to 1953 in the U.S. Army. Melvin married Lois Troutman at Hickory Church of Christ in December 1952. He was a member of Mountain Church of Christ. Melvin loved to go fishing, including fly fishing, and also enjoyed hunting. He loved cutting grass for neighbors and friends in Mountain.

Melvin is survived by his children, Ardis (Roger) Kuske, Lori (Alton) Braddy, Wanda (Brian) Ploeger, Ellen (Rick) Hunt, and Brad (Shaun) Trever; two sisters, June Janousky, Lillian Krueger; a brother, Joe (Sandy) Trever; four sisters-in-law, Helen Anderson, Margie McNutt; Arnola Troutman, and Patricia Trever; a brother-in-law, Lyle Troutman; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Lois Trever; three brothers, Robert Trevor, Ray Trever Jr. and Gilbert Trever; a sister, Dorothy Thompson; seven brothers-in-law, Emerald Anderson, Gilbert McNutt, Robert Krueger, Gerald Janousky, Roy Troutman, Harry Troutman, and Gary Troutman; three sisters-in-law, Gail Trever, Nona Troutman, and Dorothy Trevor.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 10 a.m. until funeral service at noon with Pastor Bill Krauss officiating. Melvin will be interred in Mountain Cemetery.
