Maxine M. Buettner

Maxine M. Buettner, of Wabeno, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at home under the care of Compassus Hospice with her family by her side. She was 86 years old. She was born March 25, 1936, in Shawano, a daughter of Arthur and Bernice (Kautz) Moede. She married LeRoy Buettner on Oct. 20, 1956, in Shawano.

She was a graduate of Shawano High School. She was a loving and compassionate homemaker and mother of two. She also served as a Brownie leader while her children were in Girl Scouts. She was a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crandon, where she served as treasurer.

Maxine loved to golf, especially at Nicolet Country Club in Laona. Quilting and needlepoint were among her favorite pastimes, as she was very talented in both. Maxine also loved to fish.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoyBuettner, daughters Peggy Renkas, Wabeno, Kim (Jeff) Kuse, Green Bay, grandchildren Matthew Renkas (special friend Samantha), Fort Worth, Texas, Nicole Renkas, Watertown, Michael (Drea) Renkas, Grand Chute, Jennifer Renkas, (special friend Jake McGeshick), Mole Lake, great-grandchildren Connor Burnette, Ryder Burnette, Kayden Renkas, Tristen Renkas, Katrina McGeshick, Keegan McGeshick, Kaylee Anna McGeshick, and Sister-in-Law Bonnie Moede.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Stanley Moede and Ronald (Beverly) Moede

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crandon from noon to 1 p.m. Service will be at 1 p.m. with Pastor Howard Neider and Vicar Jamie Bauknecht officiating. Burial will take place at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery following the service.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sue Hoffman for the past three years of wonderful care she gave to Maxine.
