Mary Jane Bublitz

Mary Jane Bublitz, 91, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021. She was born June 26, 1930, in Kellnersville to Joseph and Evangeline (Wanish) Weber.

In 1948, Mary Jane graduated from Mishicot High School, and in 1952, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. On June 22, 1957, she married Charles Bublitz at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville.

Mary Jane was a business teacher at Bonduel High School. After moving to Green Bay, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Green Bay high schools. She also worked for 10 years at Humana Insurance Company.

Mary Jane was a longtime member of St. Agnes Parish and was a parish eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the adult choir and the resurrection choir. Mary Jane was an active volunteer. She was a eucharistic minister at St. Mary’s Hospital, a member of the Concerned Hearts Club and volunteered at Bellin Hospital. She also volunteered at the Green Bay Visitor and Convention Bureau, ushered at the Meyer Theater and was a member of the Brown County Community Women’s Club.

Her family members include her children, Kathleen (Joe Vercellone) Bublitz and Lynn (Donald) Lechner; daughter-in-law, Ginny Bublitz; five grandchildren, Emily Bublitz, Joseph Bublitz, William Vercellone, Phillip Vercellone and Charlie Vercellone; two sisters, Joanne Delforge and Carol Krauth; nieces and nephews.

Members of her family who preceded her in death are her husband, Charles Bublitz, in 2000, and her son, Steven Bublitz, in 2018.

Visitation will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Patrick C. Beno officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
