Marian M. Pauly
Marian Mae Pauly, 93, passed away peacefully after a short illness, on Jan. 30, 2024, at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano.
Marian was born in Clintonville on Oct. 30, 1930, to James and Charlotte (Carpenter) Conlon. She graduated from Clintonville High School.
She married Edward O. Pauly on July 2, 1949, in Milwaukee. They liked being owners of several taverns in the rural Town of Maine (in between Shiocton and Leeman), Black Creek and Bonduel. They had good times playing cards with their friends and loved many dogs over the years. They enjoyed traveling the U.S., visiting and vacationing with family and friends. After retiring they were members of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church in Shawano. They shared 55 wonderful years together before Edward’s death on March 6, 2005.
Marian was fortunate to find her beloved partner, Earl K. Schmolinske. They were active members of Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. They were fond of taking guided group bus tours and also following the Mollie B Polka Band. They shared many happy years of traveling together before his passing on Nov. 7, 2020.
Marian is survived by her only daughter, Marcha (Mike) Hill of Fort Collins, Colorado; two grandsons, Jamison (Liza) Hill of New York, New York, and Shane (Corie) Hill of Oviedo, Florida; and five great-grandchildren, Conlon, Elena and Emma Hill of Oviedo, Florida, and Nikola and Alexander Hill of New York, New York. She is also survived by one sister, Kathleen (Conlon) Sieber of Burlington, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Erwin Conlon and Duane Conlon; and two sisters, Darlene Cather and Kim (Yvonne) Rusenko.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.
