Man killed in one-vehicle crash Sunday

A driver was killed Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in the Town of Stiles.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Department said the accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. along Stiles Road east of U.S. 141.

When deputies arrived on scene they located a lone vehicle with severe damage in a wooded area. The vehicle had been traveling west on Stiles Road when the driver apparently failed to negotiate a curve, entered the ditch and struck several trees.

A 57-year-old man, the lone occupant, died at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the crash. They received assistance at the scene from the Lena Fire Department and Oconto Falls Ambulance Service.
