Lorna J. Dreher

Lorna J. Dreher passed away on March 27, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospice in Albany, New York.

Lorna was born July 22, 1943, to Henry and Barbara Dreher of Shawano. She graduated from Shawano Senior High School in 1961.

She married Jon Buth of Shawano in 1965. Their son, Jay, was born in Hawaii in 1969, while his dad was stationed at Hickam Field AFB. The family moved to North Carolina in 1972. Lorna worked for Duke University and then University of North Carolina until she retired in 2003. She then moved to Virginia to be “Granny Nanny” to her granddaughters. Lorna moved back to Shawano in 2005, where she cared for her parents until they both passed away.

Lorna moved to Mission Lake near Gresham in 2007. She was a cherished neighbor and friend there until 2020. She then moved to Albany to live with her sister.

She enjoyed many sightseeing trips with her brother and sister. She liked canoeing, hiking, bird watching and generally being out in nature.

She is survived by her son, Jay Buth, his wife, Alissa, and two granddaughters, Emma and Charlotte; her brother Roger Dreher and sister Marilyn Frone; her nieces Laura Timmel and Rachel Atkins; her nephews David Dreher and Zachary Frone.
