LETTER: Life for babies should be choice always

To the editor:

Love is the reason I write this letter today. I am a wife of 21 years and a mother of four beautiful children. I am 41 years old and have endured sexual abuse, numerous miscarriages, and a season of waiting and longing for motherhood. I have seen babies’ hearts beating at six weeks after conception. I have seen numerous ultrasounds confirming life. I have seen and felt babies hiccup in the womb. I have witnessed babies sucking their thumb in the womb. They are alive. There is no doubt in my mind that life begins at conception. So today I will stand and be a voice for the unborn.

Too much attention has been given to the abortion rights that so many fear are in danger, but what about the rights of the unborn babies that people so ruthlessly kill each and every day? How can our society be OK with the destruction of our future? How did we get to this place of acceptance of killing innocent babies? They are babies. There is life in the womb.

Psalms 127:3 says, “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Children are our gift — a reward. They are not a curse, but a blessing. Abortion does not have to be a right or a choice. Life should be the choice always, in every circumstance. I understand that there are cases of rape and unwanted pregnancies; why add more trauma to the body? Adoption is a beautiful process.

I have a challenge for those pro-choice and pro-abortion people out there: Watch the amazing drama titled “Unplanned.” For those of you who stand with me as pro-life, watch the movie as well. It will confirm what you believe. No need for popcorn, just a box of tissues.
