Lena Lions celebrate 35th Dairyfest

Main Street and St. Anne’s Parish grounds in Lena were alive with activity Sept. 11 as thousands came to town for the Lena Lions Dairy Fest.

With the event landing on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 many of the parade entries had a patriotic theme. Activities following the parade included a petting zoo by Lena FFA, pony rides by Casady’s Critters, face painting by the Lena High School art department, bouncers, food venders, free ice cream sponsored by the Lions, live music, and a truck and tractor pull.

An evening fireworks display — sponsored by McGuire’s Sports Bar, Revolution, Kugel’s Cheese Mart, Jane’s Classic Touch, Loopy’s in Loomis, Marquardt Custom Homes, North Wood Flooring, Kelby Cook Construction, St. Louis Concrete, Five Corners Sportsmans Club, A-1 Driving School, and Mitch and Brooke Hodkiewicz — concluded the activities.

The winner of the Lions 50/50 raffle was James Koslowsky from Lena ($555).

The club thanked all the Lions members, Oconto Sportsman’s Club, school and church clubs, vendors and sponsors who helped out.
