Jeffrey D. Wilson appeared in court on Aug. 17 for an adjourned initial appearance for an incident dating back to July 13.

Wilson, 65, of Pulaski, was charged July 26 with one count of first degree child sexual assault with a child under 13, after allegedly touching and rubbing the private area of a family friend’s 6-year-old daughter. If convicted, Wilson faces up to 60 years in prison.

Wilson appeared in court without a public defender, due to not qualifying for one. When asked by Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court Judge Katherine Sloma what he plans to do for representation, Wilson said that he is trying to work with a Green Bay attorney, Quinn Jolly.

“I am working on getting the money up to pay him,” said Wilson.

Sloma said that she would allow Wilson more time to save money.

“I should have it sometime in September,” said Wilson.

Sloma set another adjourned initial appearance for Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Branch 1 Courtroom.
