John Charles Rowell Sr.

John Charles Rowell Sr., 78, of Pound, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on March 15, 2023. He was born to the late Charles and Louise (Race) Rowell on Nov. 21, 1944, in Oconto Falls. He graduated from Oconto Falls High School. He farmed in the local area for many years until he began working as a truck driver until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and playing farmer with his little brother, Ronald, on the family farm.

Surviving are three children, John (Memoree) Rowell Jr., Jeff Rowell and Julie (Roger) Benzschawel; the mother of his children, Gail Weilgus; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Charlie (Doris) Rowell and Ronald (Linda) Rowell; and many other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Charlotte Raatz.

The family will greet relatives and friends Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 235 E. Main St., Coleman, from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Mark Kostreva officiating.
