Jean M. Malcore

By:

Jean M. Malcore, 85, Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at a local care facility, with her family by her side. She was born the oldest of three children in the Town of Neenah on Aug. 31, 1935, to the late Anthony and Marion (Kloepfel) Konowalski. Following graduation from Green Bay East High School, Jean married Ansel Malcore on April 16, 1955, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2014.

Jean and Ansel raised their family of five children, and together they owned and operated Malcore Central Vac’s Inc. where Jean loved to talk with customers and help people. She was involved in the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Brown County Homebuilders Association, as well as the Valley Homebuilders Association. Jean and Ansel retired to Shawano and lived on the channel where they both enjoyed watching all the birds, geese, eagles and deer off their back deck.

Jean treasured visits with her children and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jean also loved going for pontoon rides with all the kids and watching them swim and play in the water. A fishing trip was always enjoyed, with a fish fry to follow. She loved growing flowers and working in her garden.

Jean was an avid Packers fan, watching all the games and was always the one to yell the loudest when it came to a touchdown or a bad call. It can be said that she truly was a people person. Jean had the ability to talk with people, always making them smile or laugh and turning acquaintances into friendships.

Jean will be deeply missed by her children, Judy (John) Van Pay, Green Bay, Jody Radant (fiancé Hilbert Saurbeir), Cecil, Douglas (Karen) Malcore, Green Bay, Steven (Holly) Malcore, Morrison, and Dori (James) Kolkowski, Sampson; grandchildren, Cory (fiancée Crystal) Van Pay, Angela Van Pay, Nadeen Rancier, Derek (Ashleigh) Malcore, Ryan Malcore and Emily Malcore; step-grandchildren, Robert (Wendy) Kolkowski and Rebecca (Adam) Kuczer; 13 great-grandchildren: Jack, Trenton, Andy, Rustin, Acacia, Gus, Penelope, Ella, Nicolas, Sawyer, Cadence, Claria and Andrew; three great-great-grandchildren, Johnothon, Theodore and Hazlee; her sister, Nancy (John) Hansen, Green Bay; two brothers-in-law, Richard Buss, Oshkosh, and Allen Malcore, Green Bay; many other family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Asha Vanden Plas, and her sister, Marilyn Buss.

Funeral Mass took place at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
