Jane E. Sutrick went home on March 22, 2023, at age 69.

She was born on March 18, 1954, to the late Ken and Alice (Olsen) Davis. She graduated from Gillett High School in 1972. On Feb. 26, 1981, she married Al Sutrick and raised a blended family together.

Jane was a dedicated and loyal person; she dedicated her life to her family, friends and career. Another passion for her was trapshooting with Pam and Marilyn. She even received the honor of being the Wisconsin State Women’s Handicap Champion and runner-up another year. Her favorite title she had though was “Grammie,” as she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, sewing and baking. Her cheesecake was “world renowned” as everyone always looked forward to it.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Davis; nephew, Mark Rudie; and sister-in-law, Sandy Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Al; children, Dennis (Clare) Schindel, Cari (Brian) Spatz and Nathan (Andrea) Sutrick; grandchildren, Katy (Nate) Giese, Keerstin Grams, Phinley Schindel, Brody Schindel and Jackson Sutrick; six great-grandchildren, and her siblings, John (Marilyn) Davis, Nancy (Arl) Rudie and Robert (Jane) Davis. Also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A memorial celebration will take place April 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. with a gathering to follow at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 S. Main St., Oconto Falls.

Per Jane’s final wishes, she was able to donate her body to the UW-Madison School of Medicine for scientific research.

Family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially Dana (RN), Ashley (RN), Cheryl (CNA), Ashley (SW) and chaplain Nicole for their compassionate care.

One of Jane’s favorite quotes is: “When you find yourself in the position to help someone, be happy and feel blessed because God is answering that person’s prayer through you. Remember: Our purpose on Earth is not to get lost in the dark but to be a light to others, so that they may find a way through us.”
