Injuries reported in 3-vehicle crash

A three-vehicle crash was reported to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 22. The sheriff’s office said the accident resulted in injuries and road blockage on state Highway 22 at Ash Lane, in the Town of Wescott. Ash Lane is just east of Shawano. Initial investigation showed that a full-size pickup truck with trailer traveling westbound on state Highway 22 was waiting for an eastbound vehicle to pass in order to turn south onto Ash Lane. The full-sized pickup truck turned southbound and struck the rear corner of the next oncoming eastbound vehicle which was a compact pickup truck, causing it to lose control. The compact pickup truck entered the eastbound lane of travel and was then struck on the passenger side by a sedan. Shawano Ambulance transported two individuals to ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano with unknown injuries. Shawano Area Fire Department and Shawano Police Department assisted on the scene. The crash remains under investigation. No names have been released.
