The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 7 at Gillett High School, 208 W. Main St.

The project, currently scheduled for 2026, covers the highway from Finnegan Lake Road to the intersection of Highways 22 and 32. The purpose of the meeting is to review the purpose and need for improvements, obtain comments and feedback on the proposed design, discuss possible schedule and traffic impacts and review WisDOT’s tools for businesses in work zones.

A short presentation is planned at 5:15 p.m. followed by an open-house format. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with project staff one-on-one.

The purpose of the project is to address deteriorating roadway conditions along state Highway 22 in the City of Gillett. Intersection improvements at Park Street, Finnegan Lake Road and Main Street/Railroad Street are also being considered. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to review design alternative details, see displays and exhibits, ask questions and provide comment to assist WisDOT in determining a final plan.
