HSHS names new Wisconsin president

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) has announced that Robert J. Erickson, MS, has been named HSHS Wisconsin market president and CEO. Erickson is scheduled to begin on April 29, and succeeds Brian Charlier, who retired in March.

In addition to his market role, Erickson will also serve as president and CEO for HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay. He will also have oversight of the system’s two other Wisconsin-based hospitals, HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls and HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.

Erickson has more than 25 years of health care leadership experience, working in both Catholic and community health systems. Most recently, he served as president and chief executive officer at UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Health System, located in the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa. He has held similar positions for health care organizations in Illinois, Kansas and Wisconsin.

“We are so pleased to have Bob join our organization,” said Kathy Donovan, senior vice president and chief operating officer for HSHS. “Bob is a dynamic leader and brings a wealth of experience in employee engagement, quality and growth.”

“I couldn’t be happier to be back in Wisconsin, where I was born,” Erickson said. “I’m eager to partner with providers and colleagues to advance our mission of high-quality care that attends to the whole person – body, mind and spirit.”

Erickson currently serves as a trustee for the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. He is also active in Boys and Girls Clubs, Rotary and Catholic Charities.
