State Highway 64 was reopened to traffic from state Highway 32 to County Road T (Townsend Dam Road) on Aug. 13, as resurfacing work nears completion.

About 6.8 miles have been closed from the Langlade/Oconto County line to Highway 32 since mid-June, as crews worked on replacing culvert pipes, removing guardrail, grading flatter slopes and milling and overlaying the existing pavement with new asphalt.

The intersection of County Road T and Highway 64 was upgraded and reconstructed as part of the $3.5 million project. Work is set to be completed by mid-September, weather dependent.

Paving was expected to be completed early this week, and shouldering operations were to begin. Crews will begin to replace permanent signs and complete remaining landscaping. Pavement marking and rumble strip application may get underway.

The entire project is now open to thru traffic. All remaining work will be completed under flagging operations.
