Highway 32 Pulaski-to-Gillett project begins

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region Office reminds motorists that work on state Highway 32 from the north village limits of Pulaski (South Chase Road) to state Highway 22 near Gillett begins July 26. Construction is expected to continue through the end of October.

The plan is for the highway to remain open using lane closures and flagging operations in the work zone. There may be short durations when access to side streets and driveways is restricted for pavement operations. The contractor is required to notify property owners 48 hours in advance of any driveway restriction.

The project aims to resurface 14.2 miles of state Highway 32 using cold-in-place recycling and hot mix asphalt, apply new shoulder and centerline rumble strips and apply a polyester polymer concrete overlay of the Pensaukee River bridge. Other work includes culverts, beamguard, shoulders and pavement markings.

The $8.6 million project is expected to provide a smoother driving surface for motorists and extend the life of the existing pavement. New centerline and shoulder rumble strips are included to enhance safety.
