FOOTBALL

Lena/STAA 36

Sevastopol 0

Lena /St. Thomas Aquinas Academy routed Sevastopol in a Peninsula Conference 8-player contest on Sept. 9 in Sevastopol.

Sam Marquardt rushed for 132 yards and four touchdowns to lead Lena/STAA offensively. Logan Graef added 98 rushing yards and the other score.

Lena/STAA held Sevastopol to 79 yards of offense. The shutout was the third of the season for Lena/STAA.

Southern Door 6

Bonduel 0

Bonduel dropped a low-scoring Packerland Conference game to Southern Door on Sept. 9 in Brussels.

The game's lone score came in the third quarter. Southern Door had 211 yards of offense, while Bonduel had 145.

Bonduel's Louis Hrabik rushed 15 times for 51 yards. Easton Reinke intercepted a pass to lead the Bears' defense.

Suring 28

Gillett 26

Suring knocked off Gillett in a Peninsula Conference 8-player game on Sept. 8 in Suring.

Keegan Rattin rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown for Suring, while Ashtyn Edwards had 109 rushing yards and a score. Seth Scrivens and Trent VanDenElzen also rushed for a touchdown each.

Suring scored three of its four touchdowns in the second quarter, with the last score coming in the third quarter. The Eagles stopped a two-point conversion pass to win the game.

Jesse DeBauch threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns for Gillett, with Brandon DeBauch hauling in 12 passes for 276 yards and four scores. Jackson Pecha rushed for 50 yards for the Tigers.

Amherst 31

Witt-Birn 28

Wittenberg-Birnamwood dropped a Central Wisconsin Conference-Large Division game to Amherst on Sept. 9 in Wittenberg.

Amherst kicked a 24-yard field goal as time expired. The field goal came a couple plays after Witt-Birn threw an interception.

Witt-Birn scored first on a 60-yard touchdown run from David Gauderman. The Chargers bumped their lead to 14-0 when Nathan Waupekenay found Marshall Fraaza for a 14-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

After Amherst rallied and tied it, Fraaza broke free for a 58-yard touchdown run to put Witt-Birn back ahead. Amherst tied it back up before Waupekenay hit Casey Kielman for a 21-yard touchdown pass.

BOYS SOCCER

Pulaski 8

Fox Valley Lutheran 0

Pulaski eased past Fox Valley Lutheran in a nonconference match on Sept. 9 in Appleton.

Ryan Drafz netted a hat trick to lead Pulaski to victory. Hayden Burkel, Donovan Holderness, Alex Kouzov and Corbin Tackmier added a goal each. The final Pulaski score was an own goal by FVL.

Ben Uelmen, Austin Lipsey and Jack Ryan were all credited with an assist for Pulaski. Gaven Haldemann stopped two shots to preserve the shutout for Pulaski.
