FOOTBALL

Algoma 14

Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy improved to 6-0 on the season after taking down Algoma in a MONLPC-East 8-player contest on Sept. 30 in Lena.

Sam Marquardt and Lane Whiting each rushed for two touchdowns, tallying 95 and 81 rushing yards, respectively. Josh Kristof had the other rushing score and Logan Shallow racked up 105 rushing yards.

Ethan Braley intercepted a pass for the co-op, which held Algoma to 221 total yards of offense.

BOYS SOCCER

Pulaski 3

Green Bay Southwest 0

Pulaski blanked Green Bay Southwest in a Fox River Classic Conference match on Sept. 30 in Green Bay.

Mason Baker stopped two shots to post the shutout for Pulaski. The Red Raiders had 16 shots on goal.

Austin Decker scored twice for Pulaski, while Oscar Aronsen had the other goal. Hayden Burkel and Chase Ambrosius were credited with an assist each.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Oconto Falls girls 2nd, boys 3rd at invite

The Oconto Falls girls team posted a score of 63 to place second behind Valders (33) at the Panther Invite on Sept. 30 in Reedsville. The Oconto Falls boys took third with a score of 96, behind Valders (34) and Brillion (82).

Hannah Ludemann led the Oconto Falls girls team with a third-place finish in 20 minutes, 54.34 seconds. Brooke Hodkiewicz took fourth in 21:00.9.

Hailey Delzer (21:45.72), Maddy Przybylski (23:17.65) and Sydney Bell (23:26.07) capped the team's top five, placing eighth, 24th and 28th, respectively.

Joe Adams placed sixth in 17:02.79 to lead the boys team, while Ben Adams (18:01.17) took 11th. Grant Yuma (18:36.43), Brant Laluzerne (18:57.04) and Emerson Rice (19:48.74) filled out the team, taking 20th, 27th and 38th, respectively.

VOLLEYBALL

Oconto Falls 3

Waupaca 1

Oconto Falls picked up a North Eastern Conference victory over Waupaca on Sept. 30 in Waupaca, winning by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24.

Emmie Magnin led Oconto Falls with 11 attack kills, while Brailyn St. Louis and Grace Oninski had nine each. Hailey Peitersen chipped in eight attack kills.

Peitersen also led the team with 29 assists. Quinn Eisch finished the match with a team-leading 19 digs, while Madison Uelmen had 12 and Peitersen added 10.

Almond-Bancroft 3

Gresham 2

Gresham fell short in a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover match on Sept. 30 in Almond. The hosts won by scores of 14-25, 26-24, 25-10, 23-25, 15-11.

Valarie Cerveny led Gresham with 22 kills, while Chloe Bohl added 12 kills. Maddie Haffner finished the match with 15 digs and 10 service points.

Hannah Cerveny tallied 31 assists and 19 digs for the Wildcats. Josie Cerveny contributed 24 digs.

Tri-County 3

Tigerton 0

Tigerton was swept by scores of 25-5, 25-16, 25-12 in a CWC crossover match against Tri-County on Sept. 30 in Plainfield.

Abby Swartz tallied 11 digs and three attack kills for Tigerton. Skyler Hauser totaled 13 digs, five attack kills and four blocks.

Samantha Suehring chipped in eight digs and three attack kills for the Tigers. Jaycee Hoppe-Schmidt was credited with 12 digs, while Elizabeth Robbins had 10 assists.

West De Pere 3

Shawano 1

Shawano dropped a Bay Conference match to West De Pere on Sept. 30 in De Pere, losing by scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-19, 25-13.

Margo Gull finished the match with 21 digs and four assists for Shawano. Maddy Sparks tallied seven kills and four blocks, while Abby Bystol had 11 kills and three blocks.

Faith Passehl posted 17 assists for the Hawks. Alix Heath chipped in 16 assists and three aces.
