BOYS SOCCER

Shawano 7

Kewaunee 1

Michael Klement netted a hat trick to help Shawano earn its fifth win of the fall on the road against Kewaunee on Monday.

Klement scored in the 18th, 24th and 49th minute for the Hawks. Carson Cummings got Shawano on the scoreboard with a goal in the third minute before adding another goal in the 21st.

Wylee Springborn scored in the 15th minute, and Tanner Buck tallied a goal in the 69th minute for the Hawks' other goals.

JJ Pyatskowit made nine saves while defending the net for Shawano. Lance Huebner and Owen Moesch were each credited with an assist on the night.

VOLLEYBALL

Witt-Birn splits at triangular

Wittenberg-Birnamwood made a trip to Pacelli High School on Monday to take on Assumption and Pacelli. The Chargers topped Assumption 25-13, 25-19, but lost to Pacelli 28-26, 25-13.

Against Assumption, Abi Fraaza and Kaitlyn Clark led Witt-Birn with eight total kills each. Marissa Groshek had seven total kills, McKenna Metropulos tallied 15 assists and Elizabeth Muscha had five digs.

In the setback to Pacelli, Fraaza led the team with 10 total kills. Metropulos finished with 11 assists and Muscha had six digs.

"We played well against Assumption. Our passing was on and we had multiple girls contributing on the offensive end," said Witt-Birn coach Becky Rew. "We started strong against Pacelli but couldn't recover from the 26-28 set loss."

Manawa 3

Bonduel 2

Bonduel dropped a back-and-forth CWC crossover match against Manawa in Bonduel on Monday. Manawa won by scores of 14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 15-13.

Josie Hoffman led Bonduel with 22 total kills and 13 digs, while Allaina Robaidek had 15 assists, 12 digs, nine total kills and two aces. Macy Niles tallied a team-high 29 digs.

Kylie Hoffman contributed six attack kills and 16 digs for the Bears. Halea Sporisky posted 18 assists and eight digs, while Mandi McClone had five attack kills.

GIRLS TENNIS

Shawano 6

New London 1

Shawano capped Bay Conference play with a win over New London on Monday. The Hawks went 5-3 in conference matches to take fourth for the season.

Isabella Buettner (No. 1), Anna Cuenca (No. 2), Peyton Buerman (No. 3) and Rylie Anderson (No. 4) all earned singles wins for Shawano. The No. 2 doubles team of Chloe Krueger and Haley Williams and No. 3 doubles duo of Alana Krolow and Aubree Zastrow also picked up wins.

"The dedication that the girls have shown in the last two years paid off this season," said Shawano coach Matt Zoll. "This season was the best place finish since I started coaching four years ago."

The Hawks will now get ready for postseason play. The team will compete in the Division 1 Notre Dame Subsectional on Monday.
