FOOTBALL

Bonduel 14

Oconto 0

Bonduel earned its first win of the season after shutting out Oconto in a Packerland Conference game on Sept. 3 in Oconto.

Bennett Engel rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown for Bonduel. Noah Weier threw for 134 yards and connected with Gaven Vance on the team's other touchdown. Vance had 79 receiving yards in the contest.

Josiah Basten added 49 rushing yards for Bonduel, which is 1-2 overall. Sawyer Klotzbuecher hauled in a 40-yard pass from Weier.

The Bears held Oconto to just 86 yards of total offense. Bonduel also intercepted three passes.

Shawano 26

New London 14

Shawano opened Bay Conference play with a win over New London on Sept. 3 in Shawano.

The Hawks are now 2-1 on the season.

Pulaski 35

Green Bay Preble 0

Pulaski rolled past Green Bay Preble in a Fox River Classic Conference-North Division contest on Sept. 3 in Green Bay.

Pulaski is now 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 40

Spencer/Columbus Catholic 0

Witt-Birnamwood dominated from start to finish to claim a Central Wisconsin Conference-Large Division victory over Spencer/Columbus Catholic on Sept. 3 in Wittenberg.

Ben Wesolowski rushed for three scores and threw for a touchdown to lead the Chargers on offense. Luke Muscha caught Wesolowski's touchdown pass.

Witt-Birn also tallied two points on a safety in the first half, and the Chargers led 27-0 at halftime.

Kaden Schmidt scampered for a 62-yard rushing touchdown on the first play of the second half to extend the lead. Marshall Fraaza capped the lopsided win with a rushing touchdown later in the third quarter.

Marion/Tigerton 48

Bruce 28

Marion/Tigerton picked up a high-scoring nonconference 8-player victory over Bruce on Sept. 3 in Tigerton.

Marion/Tigerton is now 1-1 for the season.

Phillips 58

Bowler/Gresham 0

Bowler/Gresham was blanked by Phillips in a nonconference 8-player matchup on Sept. 3 in Phillips.

Bowler/Gresham is now 0-2 on the season.

BOYS SOCCER

Pulaski 4

Menasha 0

Pulaski earned a shutout win over Menasha in a nonconference match Sept. 3 in Menasha.

Goalie Mason Baker stopped five shots to post the shutout for Pulaski.

Dylan Carley scored two goals to lead Pulaski offensively. Joe Wacholz had a goal and an assist on the night. Austin Decker scored the team's other goal, while Peyton Winkelman was credited with an assist.
