VOLLEYBALL

Manawa 3

Bowler 0

Bowler dropped a couple of close sets while being swept in a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division battle with Manawa on Thursday in Bowler. Manawa won by scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-22.

McKayla Putnam finished with six attack kills and seven assists for Bowler, while Tynea Johnson and Tia Kroening had four attack kills each. Johnson also had six digs, while Kroening had five.

Skye Breitrick led the Panthers with seven digs. Brandi Spencer had a team-leading eight assists.

Bonduel 3

Weyauwega-Fremont 1

Bonduel knocked off Weyauwega-Fremont by scores of 25-21, 25-13, 18-25, 25-20 Thursday in Bonduel.

Josie Hoffman tallied 13 total kills for the Bears in the win, while Allaina Robaidek and Hailee Thompson each added six attack kills.

Robaidek also tallied 17 assists, 13 digs and three blocks. Macy Niles had a team-leading 18 digs, while Nakiyah Henning served five aces.

Witt-Birn 3

Shiocton 2

Wittenberg-Birnamwood improved to 6-0 on the season after taking down Shiocton in five sets Thursday in Shiocton. The Chargers won by scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-22, 9-25, 15-7.

Reese Rogowski tallied 16 total kills for Witt-Birn, while Emma Herb had 11 attack kills and Jadalynn Davids tallied four block kills.

McKenna Foster finished with a team-leading 24 digs for the Chargers. Lilly Betry posted 16 assists, Payton Foster added 13 assists and Amara Schoepke served three aces.

Luxemburg-Casco 3

Clintonville 0

Clintonville battled but eventually fell short in a North Eastern Conference match against Luxemburg-Casco on Thursday in Clintonville. Lux-Casco won by scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-18.

Josie Colla finished with seven total kills for the Truckers, while Morgan Federwitz recorded three total kills and five digs.

Kate Malesa finished with three attack kills. Autumn Steede added four total kills and 10 digs, and Emily Taylor totaled 12 assists and nine digs.

Xavier 3

Shawano 0

Shawano was swept by Xavier in a Bay Conference match Thursday in Appleton. Xavier won by scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-12.

Freya Dickson led Shawano with seven attack kills, while Rachel Reed had five. Alix Heath led the team with nine assists, while Faith Passehl had seven.

Reed finished with a team-leading seven digs. Margo Gull had six digs and Dickson had five.

GIRLS TENNIS

Marinette 3

Shawano edged Marinette on Thursday in Marinette to cap the conference season.

Rylie Anderson (No. 1), Jenna Ainsworth (No. 3) and Elise Pyatskowit (No. 4) were victorious for the Hawks in singles play. The No. 1 doubles team of Anna Cuenca and Grace Licausi also picked up a win for the Hawks.

Shawano will compete in the Bay Conference Tournament Saturday in De Pere.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Shawano boys win Bay meet

The Shawano boys posted a team score of 27 to edge West De Pere (37) and Menasha (96) in a Bay Conference dual Thursday in Shawano. The girls race was canceled due to weather.

Ethan Onesti led the Shawano boys with a second-place finish in 18 minutes, 11 seconds. Aidan Preston (18:21) took fourth, while Alec White (18:30) was fifth.

Will Chelberg (18:48) and Connor Chelberg (18:54) capped the team scores, placing seventh and ninth, respectively.

Clintonville boys 3rd at NEC meet

Jesse Wilson won a NEC boys race with a time of 16:58.2 to lead the Clintonville boys to a third-place finish as a team.

Cody Carrico (20:09.8), Casey Ploederl (21:17.9), Brody Prill (21:39.8) and Mason Carrico (21:50.8) capped the boys team score, finishing 13th, 26th, 28th and 29th, respectively.

The Clintonville girls didn’t have enough runners to qualify for a team score. Jasmine Wilson (24:09.5) placed 24th, Allison Smejkal (26:47.2) 34th and Rebecca Pyatskowit (28:43.5) 43rd.

GIRLS SWIM

Shawano 83

Marinette 79

Shawano edged Marinette in a Bay Conference dual Thursday in Shawano.

Shawano’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Allison Langlois, Anne Carrier, Isabel Colon and Macy Monfils placed first in 1:59.82. Gabi Bukoski won the 500 freestyle in 6:14.75.

Shawano added second-place finishes in all but three varsity events to come out with the win.
