VOLLEYBALL

Bonduel 3

Menominee Indian 0

Bonduel knocked off Menominee Indian in a Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division match in Bonduel on Tuesday. The Bears won by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 26-24.

Josie Hoffman finished with 15 total kills and nine digs to lead Bonduel, while Allaina Robaidek had four attack kills and 10 assists. Megan Zeitler finished with four attack kills and six digs.

Halea Sporisky contributed 10 assists and five digs for Bonduel, while Macy Niles and Brenna Hertzfeldt each had 11 digs.

Gresham 3

Northland Lutheran 0

Gresham opened CWC-North play on the road, sweeping Northland Lutheran on Tuesday. Gresham won by scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.

Karisa Nietzer led Gresham with 12 kills and 12 service points, while Hannah Cerveny tallied 13 assists.

Kalayla Tucker contributed 12 service points and 13 digs in the win. Makayla Belongia finished with seven kills.

“I’m really proud of the way we played as a team tonight,” said Gresham coach Tim Wild. “We hadn’t played a match in 10 days and the hard work these girls put forth in practice over that time really paid off tonight. It was nice to pick up a road victory against a very good team to start conference play.”

Witt-Birn 3

Shiocton 1

Wittenberg-Birnamwood opened CWC-East play with a road win over Shiocton on Tuesday. The Chargers prevailed by scores of 25-14, 20-25, 25-12, 25-21.

Marissa Groshek and Abi Fraaza led the way for Witt-Birn, tallying 14 total kills each. Kaitlyn Clark posted six block kills.

McKenna Metropulos finished with 28 assists and three block kills for the Chargers. Elizabeth Muscha posted 13 digs and Madison Schwalbach had 10 digs and three aces.

“It was a great way to start off conference play,” said Witt-Birn coach Becky Rew. “We struggled with serving during the second set, but I am proud of how we turned things around and finished the third set really strong and won the fourth.”

Bowler 3

Marion 0

Bowler swept Marion in a CWC-North match in Marion on Tuesday. The Panthers won by scores of 25-13, 26-24, 25-16.

Ireland DeRoos recorded eight total kills ans served four aces for Bowler. Kayla Pecore contributed five attack kills, Brooke Thiex had 12 assists and three aces and Kyla Kroening served four aces.

Freedom 3

Clintonville 0

Clintonville was topped by Freedom in a North Eastern Conference match in Freedom on Tuesday. The Irish won by scores of 25-13, 25-9, 25-12.

Josie Colla had three attack kills for Clintonville, while McKinzie Fields had two attack kills and four digs. Lindsy Carpenter added eight assists and four digs.

BOYS SOCCER

Shawano 3

New London 3

Shawano settled for a tie with New London in a Bay Conference match in New London on Tuesday.

Michael Klement opened the scoring for the Hawks, scoring in the eighth minute. Klement also had an assist on the night.

Carson Cummings and Lucas te Plate scored for Shawano in the 18th and 89th minutes, respectively.

Wylee Springborn and Ethan Schwitzer each were credited with assists on the night, while goalie JJ Pyatskowit made seven saves.

GIRLS GOLF

Shawano takes second at Bay meet

Led by Emily Heling’s nine-hole round of 46, Shawano earned a team score of 201 to finish second at a Bay Conference Meet at Mid Vallee Golf Course in De Pere on Tuesday. Heling’s score was good enough to take second as an individual, only behind Lauren Haen (42) of Xavier, which had the top team score (193).

Shawano’s Taylor Johnson finished a shot back of Heling (47), tying for third as an individual. Kiley Rusch shot a 52, Macie Herm a 56 and Georgia Eggert a 57 to fill out the Hawks’ five-golfer team.

Bonduel took seventh as a team with a score of 248. Ava Pleshek (53) and Sydney Luepke (58) led the way for the Bears.

Thea Tauchen (68), Taylor Luepke (69) and Haylee Van Allen (73) capped the Bonduel team score.
