SOFTBALL

Witt-Birn 1

Bonduel 0

Wittenberg-Birnamwood topped Bonduel in a May 11 Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division battle in Wittenberg.

Jasmin Duranceau was the hero for Witt-Birn, driving in the game's lone run in the fourth inning and also earning the win in the circle. Duranceau struck out four batters and allowed just three hits while walking none.

McKenna Foster scored for Witt-Birn, which had five hits.

Nakiyah Henning suffered the loss for Bonduel, which turned a triple play in the second inning. Joanie Wudtke doubled for the Bears.

Seymour 6

Shawano 5

Shawano wasn't able to hold on late and eventually dropped a Bay game to Seymour on May 11 in Shawano. The hosts led 4-2 before allowing four runs in the sixth inning.

Hatty Fritz had three hits to lead Shawano at the plate.

Braylyn Babino was dealt the loss after pitching three innings.

BASEBALL

Marion 18

Port Edwards 6 (5 inn.)

Marion picked up a CWC crossover win over Port Edwards on May 11 in Port Edwards.

Koy Brei had three hits and three RBIs to lead Marion at the plate. Ethan Scheef added two RBIs on two hits, while Jack VanKooy also drove in a run on two hits. Jaden Stuhr and Carter Goke reached base four times each.

Goke, Alex Zimmerman and Nick Malueg teamed up on the mound for the Mustangs. Goke got the win after striking out four batters over two innings. Zimmerman struck out three over two innings, while Malueg worked one frame.

Menominee Indian 6

Iola-Scandinavia 5

Menominee Indian earned its first CWC-East win of the season after topping Iola-Scandinavia on May 11 in Keshena.

Ashton Corn delivered the game-winning single in the seventh inning. George Bruette Jr., Mason Frechette and Ty Waupekenay opened the seventh inning with singles of their own for Menominee Indian.

Wendell Waukau Jr., Bryce Dixon and Bruette Jr. all had two hits in the contest. Waukau Jr. homered among his two hits.

Bruette earned the win on the mound after pitching the final two innings. Jamison Besaw worked the first five innings.

West De Pere 12

Shawano 6

Shawano led 5-0, but surrendered 11 straight runs to West De Pere in an eventual Bay loss on May 11 in De Pere. Shawano allowed six runs in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth.

Ashton Henning and Andrew Popp each drove in two runs on two hits for Shawano.

Popp suffered the loss after working the first 3 2/3 innings. Zach Erdmann then got three outs before Henning got the last four.

Wausau East 8

Witt-Birn 7

Witt-Birn scored twice in the seventh inning to tie it, but Wausau East delivered the game-ending hit in the bottom of the frame to claim the May 11 nonconference battle in Wausau.

Witt-Birn scored four runs in the fifth to get back into the game after falling behind 6-1 early on.

Chase Krull homered and drove in three runs to lead Witt-Birn at the plate. Austin Rekow and Austin Worzalla each had two hits and scored twice.

Mason Meverden pitched the first three innings, striking out three along the way. Quinn Schultz was handed the loss after working the rest of the contest.

GIRLS SOCCER

Menasha 11

Shawano 1

Shawano dropped a Bay Conference matchup against Menasha on May 11 in Shawano.

Judith Llobera scored Shawano's goal in the 38th minute. Abigail Rabideau assisted on the score.

BOYS GOLF

Shawano settles for 4th at Bay meet

Shawano posted a team score of 179 to place fourth during a May 11 Bay meet at Butte Des Morts Country Club in Appleton.

Owen Moesch was Shawano's top golfer, posting a nine-hole round of 42. Kaden Marcell and Lucas te Plate each shot 44s.

Gage Gorman (49) and Andrew Puissant (52) rounded out the five-golfer varsity team.
