BASEBALL

Witt-Birn 13

Menominee Indian 0 (5 inn.)

Wittenberg-Birnamwood eased to a Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division victory over Menominee Indian on May 10 in Wittenberg. The Chargers scored four runs in the first inning and seven more in the second to build a comfortable lead.

Austin Rekow had three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored for Witt-Birn, while Ian Salvesen and Austin Worzalla drove in two runs each. Salvesen scored three runs, while Bryce Zoromski crossed the plate twice.

Rekow earned the win on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings. He allowed four walks and just one hit.

George Bruette Jr. had Menominee Indian’s hit. Wendell Waukau Jr. was dealt the loss, while Lloyd Reevis pitched the final three innings.

Marion 14

NL/WVL 4 (6 inn.)

Marion picked up a CWC-North victory over Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on May 10 in Marion.

Jaden Stuhr had a big game to lead Marion. He posted three hits, including an inside-the-park grand slam, and seven RBIs. He also earned the win on the mound after striking out seven batters over three innings.

Ryan Malueg and Jack VanKooy each added two hits for the Mustangs. Malueg pitched two innings, while Andy Faehling tossed one inning.

Bonduel 6

Wey-Fre 3

Bonduel ended a two-game losing streak by doubling up Weyauwega-Fremont in a CWC-East clash on May 10 in Weyauwega. Bonduel scored all six of its runs in the final three innings.

Carson Robaidek posted two hits and two RBIs to lead Bonduel, while Garrett Engel drove in a pair. Easton Reinke, Jack Johnson and Brett Margelofsky all added two hits.

Cole Anderson earned the win for the Bears after striking out nine batters across five shutout innings.

SOFTBALL

Witt-Birn 16

Menominee Indian 1 (3 inn.)

Witt-Birn earned a CWC-East win over Menominee Indian on May 10 in Wittenberg. The Chargers scored six runs in the first inning and 10 more in the third to reach the 15-run rule.

McKenna Foster drove in three runs for Witt-Birn, while Kaylee Schram added two RBIs. Schram, Foster, Abi Fraaza, Jadalynn Davids, Paige Kurth, Halle Beversdorf and Kiara Deruchowski all scored two runs.

Jasmin Duranceau pitched all three innings to earn the win. She allowed three hits and no walks while striking out two.

Selena O’Kimosh drove in Menominee Indian’s run in the first inning, scoring Gabriella Wayka. Aniya Peters was dealt the loss in the circle.

Bonduel 4

Wey-Fre 0

Bonduel blanked Weyauwega-Fremont in a CWC-East battle May 10 in Weyauwega.

Claire Gehm earned the win for Bonduel, striking out five batters while surrendering four walks and two hits.

Nakiyah Henning homered and drove in two runs for Bonduel, while Hailee Thompson had two hits and a run batted in.

Manawa 16

Tigerton 3 (5 inn.)

Tigerton built an early lead before being unable to slow Manawa’s bats in a CWC-North game on May 10 in Tigerton. Manawa scored four runs in the third inning before a nine-run fourth blew the game open.

Abby Swartz drove in a pair of runs for Tigerton, while Bethany Jobe delivered the team’s other RBI.

Adrienne Brady took the loss after pitching the first four innings. Skyler Hauser pitched the fifth.

BOYS GOLF

Shawano wins invite

Shawano placed first at a second straight event after posting a team score of 343 at the Rhinelander Invite on May 10 at Northwood Golf Course in Rhinelander.

Lucas te Plate was Shawano’s top finisher, carding an 18-hole round of 84. Kaden Marcell and Andrew Puissant each fired 85s.

Owen Moesch (89) and Gage Gorman (97) filled out the Hawks’ lineup.
