GIRLS BASKETBALL

Shiocton 61

Menominee Indian 59

Menominee Indian came up just short in a CWC-East battle against Shiocton on Thursday in Shiocton.

Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan led Menominee Indian with 19 points, 16 of which came in the first half. Alezaha King chipped in 13 points, while Senihseah Wayka tallied 10.

"This was a really good high school basketball game. Both teams played hard and put their best effort out on the floor," said Menominee Indian coach Michael Skenadore. "Shiocton really sold out their defense to stop Mimi in the second half by face-guarding her 30 feet from the basket. We were able to take advantage of that for most of the second half. We got into foul trouble with Senihseah fouling out with just over nine minute to go. Without her ball handling on the floor, their press became much more effective."
