Wittenberg-Birnamwood 68

Menominee Indian 47

Wittenberg-Birnamwood pulled away in the second half to claim a Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division victory over Menominee Indian on Thursday in Wittenberg.

Abi Fraaza powered Witt-Birn to the win, totaling 30 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. She made 12 shots from the floor and added five free throws.

Emma Herb tallied 16 points for the Chargers, while Reese Rogowski had 11 points and six steals. Olivia Curley added seven points.

“We came out a little slow, but we turned it around the second half,” said Witt-Birn coach Nick Mechelke. “I have to give kudos to Reese tonight — she has played great the last couple games, both offensively and defensively.”

Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan paced Menominee Indian with 19 points. Alezaha King contributed 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Eagles, while Senihseah Wayka had 10 points.

Clintonville 52

Little Chute 43

Clintonville held off Little Chute despite dealing with foul trouble in a North Eastern Conference matchup on Thursday in Clintonville.

Erin Viergutz scored 15 points to lead Clintonville on the offensive end. Elly Arndt added 10 points, while Jordan Lehman tallied nine points.

Viergutz grabbed a team-leading 10 rebounds, while Arndt pulled down six.

“I thought our defense in the second half made some key stops,” said Clintonville coach Nick Yaeger. “Erin Viergutz showed her toughness after dislocating a finger on her shooting hand in the first half. She basically played the whole second half and her play really helped us get the win. It was a big win for us.”

Bonduel 45

Weyauwega-Fremont 37

Bonduel topped Weyauwega-Fremont in a CWC-East matchup on Thursday in Weyauwega.

Kara Troxel led the way for Bonduel, totaling 17 points and seven rebounds. Allaina Robaidek added nine points, while Brenna Hertzfeldt chipped in nine points off the bench.

Gresham 49

Tigerton 37

Gresham took down Tigerton in a CWC-North battle on Thursday in Tigerton.

Makayla Belongia hit three 3-pointers and led Gresham with 16 points. Valarie Cerveny added 13 points, while Kaylee Bohm chipped in 10 points.

Adrienne Brady scored nine points to pace Tigerton. Savannah Swartz tallied eight points.

WRESTLING

Bonduel 45

Pittsville 36

Bonduel took down Pittsville in a CWC dual on Thursday in Bonduel.

Tristan Tomashek (182), Tyson Bogacz (120) and Max Sokolski (138) all won by pin for Bonduel, while Jayson Toellner (132) won a 9-3 decision.

Moises Lagunes (152), Kaden Bergsbaken (170), Isaac Banker (195), and Alex Garside (220) all picked up forfeit wins for the Bears.

Shawano 55

Menasha 22

Shawano knocked off Menasha in a Bay Conference dual on Thursday in Menasha. The Hawks will host Xavier on Thursday and would claim a second straight conference title with a victory.

Wyatt Brandt (126), Noah Jones (138), Carter Schmidt (145) and Andrew Popp (182) all won by pin for Shawano. Keith Tourtillott (220) and Ben Carroll (152) won by technical fall, while Conner Majeski (120) earned a decision win.

Colten Herm (160), Gage Timm (170) and Trace Yeager (195) all won by forfeit for the Hawks.

"The kids battled hard tonight, especially in the lower weights at 106 (Brady Stomberg) and 120 (Majeski)," said Shawano coach Mike Homan. "I'm proud of our young guys — they are showing progress and helping to solidify our lineup. Brady Stomberg and Connor Majeski are doing a great job for taking up the sport just a few months ago.

"Some of our horses continued to work tonight. Ben Carroll, Keith Tourtillott, Gage Timm, Colten Herm and Andrew Popp all won to stay undefeated in conference."
