GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 56

Stratford 28

Wittenberg-Birnamwood doubled up Stratford in a nonconference matchup in Stratford on Monday.

Abi Fraaza led Witt-Birn with 18 points, while Emma Herb tallied 13 and Reese Rogowski 12.

Fraaza also totaled 13 rebounds, three steals and six assists. Herb grabbed eight rebounds, while Rogowski had three steals.

"I really liked how we played tonight," said Witt-Birn coach Nick Mechelke. "I thought we moved the ball around well and executed when we needed to. Knowing coming in that they had some height, we had some girls step up and make some plays. Defensively, I thought we made Stratford work, which limited their scoring."

Clintonville 55

Denmark 49

Clintonville rallied from an early deficit to take down Denmark in a North Eastern Conference matchup in Denmark on Monday.

"Denmark came out to start the game on fire shooting the ball and we lacked energy to make it all that worse for us. I think they jumped out to a 22-6 lead," said Clintonville coach Nick Yaeger. "We just had to settle in and play our game. The defense played much better in the second half and we came out with a lot more energy in the second half. I'm proud of how the girls hung in there and never gave up."

Erin Viergutz scored 24 points to lead Clintonville on the offensive end. Elly Arndt added 11 points, while Jordan Lehman chipped in nine points.

Selina Torrez pulled down eight rebounds and dished out three assists for the Truckers. Abby King had six boards and three assists.
