WRESTLING
Shawano goes 1-2 at quad, wins Bay title
Shawano topped Bay Conference foe West De Pere (57-10) to win its third straight Bay Conference title but dropped tight duals to Slinger (39-36) and Marshfield (33-31) during a quad on Jan. 21 in Shawano.
Against West De Pere, Drake Herm (113), Carter Schmidt (152), Gage Timm (195), Jackson Smits (220) and Nick Kohn (285) all earned wins by pin for Shawano. Noah Jones (145) won a decision, while Marcus Koehler (126), Colten Herm (160), Caden Young (170) and Andrew Popp (182) won by forfeit.
In the loss to Slinger, Drake Herm (106), Popp (170), Timm (182) and Kohn (285) won by pin. Jones (145) and Young (160) won decisions, while Smits (220) claimed a win after his opponent suffered an injury.
Against Marshfield, Smits (220) and Drake Herm (106) won by pin. Timm (195) claimed a major decision win and Wyatt Brandt (132) won a 9-4 decision. Kohn (285) and Koehler (126) were winners by forfeit.
Bonduel posts 2-1 mark at home quad
Bonduel earned dual wins over Wittenberg-Birnamwood (36-30) and Two Rivers (38-12) and dropped a dual to Crandon (39-33) during a quad on Jan. 21 in Bonduel.
In the Central Wisconsin Conference win over Witt-Birn, Jayson Toellner (138) and Parker Perry (160) won by pin for Bonduel. Tyson Bogacz (145) and Max Sokolski (152) claimed decision wins and Cooper Salerno (120), Donovan Vigue (170) and Kaden Bergsbaken (195) all won by forfeit.
In the victory over Two Rivers, Bogacz (145) and Sokolski (152) pinned their opponents. Vigue (170) claimed a technical fall win, while Perry (160) won a decision. Bergsbaken (195) and Salerno (120) and Toellner (138) won by forfeit.
In the setback to Crandon, Salerno (126), Bogacz (145) and Vigue (170) won by pin. Toellner (138) won a decision, while Bergsbaken (195) and Sokolski (152) won by forfeit.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood started slow and could never recover in a nonconference loss to Edgar on Jan. 21 in Wittenberg.
Simon Schairer scored 14 points to lead Witt-Birn on the offensive end. Max Fraaza added eight points, while Ben Wesolowski tallied seven points.
