BOYS HOCKEY

Shawano co-op 10

Tomahawk 4

The Shawano/Bonduel/Clintonville co-op cruised to a win over Tomahawk on Jan. 12 at the Crawford Center in Shawano. Seven different co-op players scored.

Andrew Puissant led the co-op with three goals and an assist. Ryan Wegenke added two goals.

Karson Stoss and Sam Arneson each had one goal and one assist for the hosts. Leland Jones, Skyler Webster and Noah Davids had the other goals, while Ticeon Olson and Aidan Beaulieu were credited with an assist each.

Dylan Prochaska made 11 saves while defending the net for the Shawano co-op. Two of Tomahawk's goals came on power plays.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bonduel 54

Stratford 49

Bonduel rallied past Stratford in a nonconference battle on Jan. 12 in Bonduel.

Allaina Robaidek scored 23 points and had four steals to lead Bonduel. Kara Troxel added 21 points, while Breanna Schnell grabbed five rebounds.

The Bears trailed 28-24 at halftime and were outrebounded 32-19 in the contest. Bonduel converted 15 of 19 attempts at the free throw line to prevail.

Witt-Birn 64

Nekoosa 24

Wittenberg-Birnamwood rolled to a nonconference victory over Nekoosa on Jan. 12 in Wittenberg. The Chargers led 35-6 at halftime.

Emma Herb recorded 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead Witt-Birn. Amara Schoepke tallied eight points and four steals, while Kaylee Schram also scored eight points.

Jadalynn Davids was credited with five steals for the Chargers. Reese Rogowski dished out four assists.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Witt-Birn 78

Columbus Catholic 65

Witt-Birn won its third game in a row after taking down Columbus Catholic on Jan. 12 in Marshfield.

Simon Schairer and Ben Wesolowski guided Witt-Birn to victory, scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively. Jack Fraaza chipped in 10 points.

Kaden Schmidt added nine points for the Chargers. Max Fraaza contributed eight points, while Michael Miller had seven.

"I felt the boys crashed the glass exceptionally well tonight and played very strong team basketball from an offensive standpoint. We were patient and took great shots, utilized the post, and when it wasn’t there we kicked it out to the perimeter and had some success both inside and out," said Witt-Birn coach Garrett Rogowski.

Oconto 63

Bonduel 55

Bonduel dropped a nonconference clash against Oconto on Jan. 12 in Oconto.

Reece Stoltenow and Garrett Engel each hit three 3-pointers for Bonduel, scoring 13 and nine points, respectively.

Brett Margelofsky added 10 points for the Bears, while Carson Robaidek and Noah Weier each scored seven points.
