GIRLS BASKETBALL

Witt-Birn 58

Gilman 21

Wittenberg-Birnamwood played in its first game since Jan. 18, toppling Gilman in a nonconference matchup on Feb. 2 in Gilman.

Abi Fraaza tallied 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks for Witt-Birn. Reese Rogowski and Emma Herb each added 10 points for the Chargers.

Herb also tallied seven rebounds and five steals, while Rogowski had four assists.

Amara Schoepke tallied nine points for Witt-Birn. Jadalynn Davids had three steals.

Bonduel 61

Gillett 38

Bonduel eased past Gillett in a nonconference clash on Feb. 2 in Gillett.

Allaina Robaidek and Kara Troxel scored 18 and 16 points, respectively to lead Bonduel.

Breanna Schnell added eight points, while Brenna Hertzfeldt chipped in seven.

Manawa 64

Gresham 51

Gresham couldn't ever get in an offensive rhythm during a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division setback to Manawa on Feb. 2 in Gresham.

The loss was a blow to Gresham's conference championship quest, as both teams entered the game with one conference loss. "We just have to move on to the next game, that's what we've done all season," said Gresham coach Newell Haffner.

Valarie Cerveny scored 18 points for Gresham, while Maddie Haffner tallied 12 points. Hannah Cerveny chipped in seven points.

Gresham was outscored 34-22 in the second half.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Witt-Birn 55

Lakeland 44

Ben Wesolowski powered Witt-Birn to a nonconference victory over Lakeland on Feb. 2 in Minocqua.

Wesolowski hit four 3-pointers and scored 25 points.

Simon Schairer and Jack Fraaza chipped in 14 and 10 points, respectively for the Chargers.

"We gave great effort on the defensive end of the floor tonight and executed in transition offensively," said Witt-Birn coach Garrett Rogowski. "We probably ran the floor better than I’ve seen us in a long time."

Bonduel 64

Gillett 27

Bonduel used a balanced scoring attack to take down Gillett in a nonconference clash on Feb. 2 in Bonduel.

Carson Robaidek scored 11 points to lead Bonduel, while Jon Sell added 10 points. Brett Margelofsky hit three 3-pointers to contribute nine points.

Bonduel led 44-16 at halftime.
