BOYS BASKETBALL

Marion 39

NEWCHAA 37

Marion hung on in the closing seconds for a low-scoring nonconference win over Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschoolers Athletic Association on Tuesday in Marion.

Branden Beechy led Marion with 12 points, while Collin Haas chipped in eight. Jared Krueger added seven points.

NEWCHAA missed a deep 3-pointer at the final buzzer.

Clintonville 73

Waupaca 58

Clintonville earned a North Eastern Conference road win over Waupaca on Tuesday. The Truckers led 39-26 at halftime.

Aiden Polzin knocked down 11 field goals and six free throws to score 32 points for Clintonville.

Clintonville's Cam Mauel chipped in 12 points, while Brock Smejkal had nine and Nathan Morse seven.

Antigo 79

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 75

Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored 52 second-half points, but it wasn’t enough to take down Antigo in a nonconference battle on Tuesday in Wittenberg. Witt-Birn trailed 45-23 at halftime.

Brendan Resch knocked down six 3-pointers and led Witt-Birn with 29 points on the night. Resch scored 24 points in the second half.

Austin Gibson chipped in 22 points for the Chargers, with 18 of those points coming in the second half. Ben Wesolowski added 15 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

NEWCHAA 44

Marion 38

Marion came up short in a nonconference battle with NEWCHAA on Tuesday in Marion.

Tessa Brei led Marion with 19 points, but was forced to sit the final 11 minutes of the game after fouling out. Marion scored just three points after Brei fouled out.

Kyla Zillmer added eight points for Marion.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 55

Lakeland Union 50

Witt-Birn escaped with a nonconference road win over Lakeland Union on Tuesday in Minocqua.

Abi Fraaza posted 19 points and seven rebounds to lead Witt-Birn. Emma Herb contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Olivia Curley had five rebounds and four steals.

"We came out flat in the first half, which Lakeland took advantage of and got some easy baskets on us," said Witt-Birn coach Nick Mechelke. "We made some adjustments and battled back in the second half to pull it out."

Gresham 74

Port Edwards 48

Gresham rolled to a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover road win over Port Edwards on Tuesday.

Hannah Cerveny led a balanced Gresham attack with 19 points. Valarie Cerveny added 14 points.

Makayla Belongia and Kaylee Bohm each scored 10 points for the Wildcats, while Destiny Reindl had seven points.

Gresham led 38-23 at halftime.

Bonduel 66

Manawa 24

Bonduel dominated Manawa in a CWC crossover matchup on Tuesday in Bonduel. Bonduel led 42-13 at halftime.

Allaina Robaidek led Bonduel with 23 points, 18 of which came in the opening half. Madison Kurey finished with a double-double for the Bears, totaling 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kara Troxel contributed nine points, five assists and five steals.

Bonduel finished the regular season with a 20-2 record overall.
