Austin Gibson hit a 16-foot turnaround jumper as the final seconds ticked away to give Wittenberg-Birnamwood a thrilling nonconference road win over Auburndale on Monday.

Gibson finished with 12 points in the contest, while Logan Balliett added eight points.

Witt-Birn’s Brendan Resch hit six 3-pointers and tallied a team-leading 21 points.

“The boys never gave up tonight,” said Witt-Birn coach Garrett Rogowski. “They fought for what they got on every possession and kept the intensity up throughout. Very proud of the effort.”

Bonduel 59

Coleman 53

The duo of Carson Robaidek and Cole Letter led Bonduel to a nonconference road win over Coleman on Monday.

Robaidek knocked down eight field goals and four free throws to pace Bonduel with 20 points. Letter buried three 3-pointers among his seven field goals to chip in 18 points.

Reece Stoltenow provided nine points for the Bears, while Garrett Engel tallied seven points.

Bonduel led 34-19 at halftime.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Menominee Indian 54

Wabeno/Laona 46

Menominee Indian secured a nonconference road win over Wabeno/Laona on Monday in Wabeno behind a big game from Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan.

Beaulieu-Morgan tallied 28 points for the Eagles.

“We played well with lots of help from our bench tonight. They didn’t score a lot, but they helped us with ball handling and stepping up on defense,” said Menominee Indian coach Michael Skenadore. “The game was very close throughout and a five-point lead felt like 15.”
