Wittenberg-Birnamwood was outscored 40-31 in the second half of a nonconference loss to Northland Pines on Tuesday in Wittenberg.

Austin Gibson scored 17 points to lead Witt-Birn. Brendan Resch added 16 points, while Simon Stewart had 13. Logan Balliett chipped in with seven points.

Witt-Birn coach Garrett Rogowski said the team played close until the 5- or 6-minute mark in the second half of the game. “A few crucial turnovers set us back about 10 (points), and we couldn’t recover,” Rogowski said.
