GIRLS BASKETBALL

Witt-Birn 47

Marathon 33

Wittenberg-Birnamwood's Emma Herb topped the 1,000-point mark for her high school career during the team's nonconference win over Marathon on Dec. 29 in Wittenberg.

Herb accomplished the feat on a free throw with less than a minute to play in the game. She finished the game with 19 points and also had seven rebounds and three assists.

Reese Rogowski knocked down four 3-pointers and tallied 16 points for the Chargers. She also had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Jadalynn Davids grabbed nine rebounds for the Chargers, while Amara Schoepke had seven boards and three steals. Kaylee Schram grabbed five rebounds.

WRESTLING

Shawano 51

Kiel 26

Shawano won the final five weight classes to take down Kiel in a nonconference dual on Dec. 29 in Shawano.

Colten Herm (152), Andrew Popp (170), Gage Timm (182) and Drake Herm (113) all won by pin for Shawano. Caden Young (160) won by technical fall and Noah Jones (145) earned a major decision win.

Jackson Smits (220), Brady Jones (285) and Brady Stomberg (106) all had forfeit wins for the Hawks.

Carter Schmidt, Marcus Koehler, Reef Anthony, Sheldon Krueger, Carsen Herm, Alex Kohn, Quardell Little Owl, Brady Jones and Smits all won exhibition matches for Shawano.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Witt-Birn 51

Bangor 48

Witt-Birn earned a tournament win over Bangor on Dec. 29 in Stratford.

Simon Schairer paced Witt-Birn with 22 points, converting 10 field goals and a pair of free throws.

Ben Wesolowski added 14 points, while Jack Fraaza had seven.
