GIRLS SWIM

Stark leads Witt-Birn at pentathlon

Several Wittenberg-Birnamwood swimmers turned in strong finishes during the Marinette Pentathlon on Aug. 21 in Marinette. Swimmers competed against other athletes in their grades.

Senior Olyvia Stark placed third in the senior class with a total time of 3 minutes, 28.69 seconds. Isabella Hegewald came in fourth (3:32.69). Stark won the 50-yard backstroke, while Hegewald was second in the 50 breaststroke.

In the sophomore class, Witt-Birn's Olivia Bessette came in fifth (3:36.68), while Ava Hegewald was eighth (3:43.18).

Annika Resch took sixth in the junior class with a total time of 3:27.05. Jessica Storlie was 10th in 3:45.13.
