Harriet L. Kuchenbecker

Harriet Lillian (Bourassa) (Courchaine) Kuchenbecker, 84, Oconto Falls, passed away at home on April 3, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Oconto Falls to Harry and Joyce (Westphal) Bourassa. Harriet graduated from Oconto Falls High School, Class of 1955. On June 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Laurence “Babe” Courchaine in Waukegan, Illinois. They had seven children together. Babe passed away on June 18, 1969. Harriet was united in marriage to Eugene Kuchenbecker on Jan 23, 1971, in Oconto Falls. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2007. Harriet was employed by Unlimited Service in Oconto for many years until her retirement.

Harriet is survived by four daughters, Connie (Kevin) Konitzer, Oconto Falls, Donna (Bob) Hooten, Canton, Oklahoma, Terri (Larry) Kaszynski, Oconto, and Kellie Courchaine, Oconto Falls; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Darlene Rasmussen, Oconto Falls; four step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Laurence “Babe” Courchaine and Gene Kuchenbecker; a son, Laurence H. Courchaine in 2020; infant twin daughters and an infant grandson; and a sister, Lorraine Tiegs.

A private family service will be held at a Gillett cemetery at a later date.
