Harold F. Metzner

Harold F. Metzner, 93, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019. He was born on June 28, 1926, in Illinois to Frank and Charlotte (Jacob) Metzner.

Harold served with the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific during World War II. After his service, he worked for Culligan in Illinois from 1952 to 1958, at which time he started his own Culligan business in Green Bay, which he ran for over 50 years.

On June 16, 1950, Harold married Marjorie “Marge” Hall in Wheaton, Illinois. They enjoyed traveling through the U.S. and Europe; and meeting with family in Germany on their travels. He had a goal to golf at every golf course in America. Harold loved the opera and often made CDs of his favorite music off the radio. Harold was very proud of his family. He spent his retirement in Cecil.

Survivors include six children and their spouses, Mark (Kathleen) Metzner, Marcia (Mark) Christiansen, David (Marcia) Metzner, Jim (Renee) Metzner, Rick (Sharon) Metzner, Tom (Maxine) Metzner; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; and his parents.

Visitation was held at Blaney Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 16; followed by the funeral service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. To send online condolences, please go to www.blaneyfuneralhome.com.
