Glenda M. Tahmahkera

Glenda M. Tahmahkera, 86, of Keshena, passed away early Monday morning, Aug. 9, 2021, at Shawano Health Services.

Glenda was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Keshena, a daughter of Henry M. and Josephine (Wishecoby) Dodge. She attended St. Joseph School for eight years then attended Shawano High School, graduating with the Class of 1953. Following high school, Glenda attended Moraine Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois, where she earned her associate’s degree in business management and administration. She put her degree to use by working in business management in various casinos throughout the country.

Glenda volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America for over 18 years. Her hobbies included arts and crafts.

Survivors include her son, Marvin “Wolf” Tahmahkera Jr., of Mesa, Arizona; her daughter, Susan Tahmahkera, of Orland Park, Florida; two brothers, Richard A. Dodge and Sidney C. Dodge, both of Keshena; three sisters, Carol Dodge, Faye (Tony Sr.) Waupechik and Kathy (James) Kaquatosh, all of Keshena; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Josephine Duquain; two brothers, Melvin and Roger Dodge; three sisters, Gwen Washinawtok, Sandra King and Constance Goetz; two sisters in infancy; her cousin, Joseph Melotte; and her stepbrother, Arthur Chapman.

In keeping with Glenda’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Keshena.
