WITTENBERG — Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School’s Abi Fraaza was tabbed the Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division Player of the Year after stuffing the stat sheet during her junior season on the basketball court.

Fraaza was a unanimous first team all-conference pick after putting up averages of 16.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 3.6 blocks and 2.5 steals per conference game.

“It is such a big accomplishment for me to be named the conference Player of the Year and I am so thankful for my teammates and coaches pushing me harder every day in practice,” said Fraaza, who also stated that the honor will motivate her going into next season. “I am also thankful for my parents (Bill and Charity) and all the fans always believing in me through the season.”

Fraaza helped lead the Chargers to an 11-1 record in conference play to edge Bonduel for the title.

Witt-Birn junior Emma Herb also made the first team unanimously.

Herb led the team with an average of 17 points per conference game. She also averaged 8.5 rebounds and 2 steals per contest.

“It means a lot to me knowing that I accomplished one of my goals being voted unanimously on first team,” said Herb. “To make it as a junior makes me want to push myself even harder to maintain this spot and do better next season.”

Witt-Birn’s Olivia Curley landed on the second team after a solid senior season.

She averaged 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.3 steals per game.

Bonduel

Bonduel went 10-2 in CWC-East play and had three players earn all-conference recognition, along with Jerry Reinke being named the Coach of the Year.

“I have a lot of respect for my coaching colleagues, so it certainly is an honor to be named Coach of the Year,” said Reinke. “It is a reflection of how well our program performed this year and I am thankful that I was able to be part of it. Our players and assistant coaches worked very hard and they are the biggest reason that I received this award.”

Bonduel junior Kara Troxel landed on the first team unanimously, while sophomore Allaina Robaidek made the second team and junior Madison Kurey was tabbed an honorable mention.

In conference play, Troxel averaged 14.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.8 assists per game.

“It’s a great accomplishment. I wouldn’t have been able to be the player I am without the help of my team though,” said Troxel. “We push each other to get better every day during practices. It also makes me want to work harder and get better as a player.”

Robaidek posted averages of 11.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 steals in conference play.

Kurey led the team by pulling down an average of 6.7 rebounds a game. She also tallied 3.9 points, 1.2 blocks and 2 steals per game.

Menominee Indian

Menominee Indian finished with a 3-9 conference record, due in large part to the play of Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan.

The junior landed on the CWC-East first team after leading the conference with 19.6 points per game.

“Well, after getting placed on the all-conference second team last year, my biggest goal was to make the all-conference first team, which I was able to accomplish with the help of my teammates and family,” said Beaulieu-Morgan.

“Making first team motivates me to become a better all-around player and a better teammate. I’m going to push not only myself, but my teammates to be the better versions of ourselves that we can be.”

Menominee Indian senior Alyssa Corn made the honorable mention team.

She averaged 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1.8 assists per game.
