GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lena stays perfect in conference play

Snow and high winds cancelled most games Jan. 9 and Jan. 12, with most of them rescheduled for later in the season.

Bonduel

Bonduel improved to 13-2 overall with a 52-23 win over Manawa on Jan. 11.

Pulaski

The Red Raiders fell to 5-3 in the Fox River Classic Conference with a 64-36 loss to De Pere.

Ellie Mangold led Pulaski with 12 points.

Pulaski was behind by 13 points at the break and was behind by another 15 in the second half.

Monday, Jan. 8

Bonduel defeats Oconto Falls

Four Bears scored in double digits as Bonduel defeated Oconto Falls 76-47 in a non-conference game.

Elisa Huschke led with 17 points. Audrey Weierand Hailey Zernicke each scored 15, and Hailee Thompson added 10.

Gillett

Gillett is even at 4-4 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference after its 63-26 thrashing of St. Thomas Aquinas Academy.

Lena crushes Suring

Suring did not score in double digits in each half as they were crushed by Lena 56-16.

The Wildcats pounced on Suring 21-9 in the first half and extended their lead with a bruising 35-7 second half.

Eva Brooks led the team with 16 points, while Madilyn Thomson added 10.

Brooks also set the pace with seven rebounds, and she and Thomson each had four assists. Brooks also had five steals.

Lena stayed perfect at 8-0 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference standings and is 13-0 overall. Suring dropped to 2-6 and 4-11, respectively.

Marion

Marion was destroyed 56-16 by Manawa in a non-conference game.
