Franklin A. Habeck

Franklin Arthur Habeck, 98, Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at Shawano Health Services. He was born March 23, 1923, to the late Arthur and Clara (Geisel) Habeck. Franklin was a World War II veteran; he served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1947. In 1947, Franklin was united in marriage to Shirley Doetsch in Green Bay, and the couple had four children. Shirley preceded Franklin in death on May 24, 2010.

Franklin worked as a steamfitter and was a longtime member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 400. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Franklin also raised beef cattle on his hobby farm.

Survivors include two sons, Mitch (Theresa) Habeck, Silver Cliff, and Mark Habeck, Tucson, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Michelle Schulz, Stephen Krueck, David Krueck; Lauri (John) Christjohn, Cory Habeck, Daniel (Carrie) Habeck, Marlys (Joshua) Dugan, and Haley (Cory) Burton; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Franklin was preceded in death by one daughter, Marlys (Dennis) Moon; one son, Michael Habeck; and one sister, Laverne Haut.

In accordance with Franklin’s wishes, no funeral services will take place. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.

The family extends a special thanks to the staffs of Shepherds Inn in Seymour, Shawano Health Services and Heartland Hospice, especially Tina and Tonya, for their compassionate care.
