OSHKOSH — Chad McVeigh and Logan Stuart of Suring and Gillett’s Logan Block were all named to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association 2020 All-Star Game.

The three players will play in the 8-player game, which is scheduled to be played July 18 at 10 a.m. at UW-Oshkosh’s Titan Stadium. All three will play on the South team, which will battle the North in an event that raises money for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

McVeigh and Stuart helped Suring to an 8-2 overall record and MONLPC-8 title last fall.

McVeigh made the all-conference first team as a defensive lineman and was an honorable mention pick as an offensive lineman.

“It is very special to me to be able to play another game of the sport I love,” said McVeigh. “I put a lot of work into football, and the fact I got picked for the all-star game means a lot to me. It’s gonna be a lot of fun to meet new people. It’s also a plus to be able to raise money for the children’s hospital.”

Stuart was the team’s leader on offense and defense and was named the conference’s offensive and defensive player of the year. Stuart played running back on offense and linebacker on defense.

“It’s an honor to be recognized and to be able to play with so many top athletes around the state,” said Stuart. “I’ve heard it’s going to be an incredible experience, and I’m looking forward to helping raise money for the children’s hospital, as well.”

Block played several positions for an injury-riddled Gillett team that finished 3-6 last fall.

He made the all-conference first team as a linebacker and second team as an offensive lineman.

“It is very special to me,” said Block, of playing in the all-star game. “It just shows that all the work that was put in was noticed by the other coaches of the conference, and it means a lot to me to be chosen.”
